The Punchestown Music Festival returns this Summer with a two-day line up featuring Tom Jones and Culture Club, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July.

.
Performing across the weekend will be Bonnie Tyler, Deacon Blue, Dr Hook, Roland Gift, Village People, Smash Hits, Shane Filan,
All Saints, ABC, Bjorn Again, Boney M
& Smokie.

Tom Jones’ 50-year career has remarkably gone from strength to strength.  Along with sustaining his popularity as a live performer and recording artist for five decades, he has garnered—at the age of 76—the best reviews of his career for his most recent albums Long Lost Suitcase, Spirit In The Room and Praise & Blame.

.

Sir Tom is indeed a living legend, one of the few musical artists whose profession began at the dawn of modern popular music who continues to have a vital recording and performing career to this day. His irresistible show traverses musical eras and genres, cuts across class divides and appeals to all ages, male and female, mainstream and cutting edge. Sir Tom has always been about the power of the song, the power of the voice.

Culture Club were one of the biggest pop bands of the 80s, racking up seven straight Top 10 hits in the UK and nine Top 10 singles in the US.

Central to the band’s appeal was the flamboyant front man Boy George, whose cross-dressing and heavy make-up created an image which was completely unique on the pop scene.

In 1984, Culture Club won the Brit Award for Best British Group, a Grammy Award for Best New Artist, and Best British Single (“Karma Chameleon”). In 1985, Culture Club were nominated for an American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group Video Artist, and the same year, they were nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards for Best Special Effects and Best Art Direction for their video “It’s a Miracle”.

HOUSE OF YOGA

The House of Yoga Method www.housemusicyoga.com is an easy technique of moving our bodies in a balanced even way in line in rhythm with the beat of a house and disco soundtrack. We retune and sync up arms and shoulders, belly and feet in line with a 4 or 8 beat of the soundtrack. It’s a delicious way to wake up bodies into the beat and onto their feet! Karla Kelly has developed the method over the last 10 years and loves to take yoga off the mat to remind us that we each carry ourselves wherever we go in our own bodymindheart ‘house’ -all the time!

Its mindful easy fun gentle movements and as we bring ourselves together in rhythm with our own individual ‘houses’, we’re also all moving in unity with breath and beat and can begin really feel ourselves part of the bigger ‘House’. This weekend Karla has put together a 30 minute easy disco flow from 2:15 to 2:45 on the Main Stage before the music starts both days. You’re encouraged to bring your friends and your beer and download sweet space into your base place !
